The Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking a highly qualified musician for the position of


 Auditions will be held at the Marjan Kozina Hall at the Slovenian Philharmonics Building (Kongresni trg 10, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia) on June 26, 2019.


About the position*:
Full time position, 12-month contract, with the option to extend (permanent position)


Job requirements:
Job requirements:
– bachelor’s degree (university level degree in music – previous program) / master’s degree (Bologna second level degree in music)**,
– Slovene language proficiency**
– foreign language proficiency (English or German or French or Spanish or Russian)*
– min. 6 months work experience,
– successfully passed audition.


*Please note, that if a candidate does not meet the education requirements for the job, outstandingly passed audition may, as an exception, compensate for the requited degree

**If a candidate does not speak the Slovene language, outstandingly passed audition may, as an exception, compensate for the requited language proficiency, however, the candidate who successfully passes the audition is required to attend the Slovene course at the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language sometime in the first two years of his/her employment.

• CV/résumé (including mailing address, phone number and email address),
• copy of one’s degree diploma/certificate  – proving the completed education,
• copy of an ID ,
• language certificate.

The Slovenian Philharmonics Symphony will be accepting applications through Friday, June 14, 2019.


Résumés will be reviewed after submission, and all applicants will be notified by email of their invitation to attend the audition, for which piano accompaniment will be provided. Please note that travel and accommodation expenses will not be reimbursed.

Haydn Cello Concerto No. 2 in D major (1st movement, including cadenza)


2nd round (applicant’s choice)

Robert Schumann: Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129 (1st movement)
Antonín Dvořák: Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104 (1st movement)
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: The Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33
Edward Elgar: Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85 (1st and 2nd movement)


3th round – orchestral excerpts

Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Symphony No.6 in B minor, Op. 74 – Allegro con Grazia
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67– Andante con moto / Allegro
Giuseppe Verdi: Requiem – Offertorio
Richard Strauss: Don Juan
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90 “Italian”
