A. Bruckner: Mass No. 3 in F minor
A. Bruckner: Te Deum in C major
_________

Bruckner’s Mass No. 3 in F minor is his largest vocal-instrumental work, composed after his extended illness in 1867. The work was first performed under the composer’s leadership in the St Augustine Church in Vienna in 1872. Slovenes can also take some credit for Bruckner’s success. The largest organ at the time in the monastery church of St Florian in Austria, on which Bruckner played for many years and from which he gained the inspiration for the colourful instrumentation of his works, was made by the Slovenian organ maker Franc Ksaver Križman. On the wish of the composer, Bruckner was also buried under this organ.
Bruckner’s Te Deum, which was first performed in 1886, has also gradually gained a permanent place in concert repertoires throughout the world, as it is undoubtedly one of the best compositions of this kind (the Te Deum of all times).
